• Cangse Sanren/Wei Changze/Lan Qiren: I think something where LQR was either really good friends or in a romantic relationship with WC/CSSR in their youth or early adulthood would be really interesting.
• Cangse Sanren/Madam Lan: I love the headcanon that Madam Lan was either wrongfully accused of the crime she committed or was acting in self-defense but still ended up being punished. I think this headcanon paired with an established friendship or romantic relationship between her and CSSR during pre-canon would be interesting to explore. Maybe CSSR breaks into the Cloud Recesses the day after ML's wedding and comforts her/tries to take her away. Maybe they're allowed to meet one last time before ML is locked away.
• Wei Changze/Wen Ruohan and/or CSSR/WCZ/Wen Ruohan: I read precisely one fic that mentioned WCZ & WRH being former lovers and my brain latched onto that idea and never let it go. I think this pairing would be fascinating tbh and I would love to see whatever your take on it would be! I’d be cool with modern au or canon interpretations of them.
• Wēn Zhúliú/Yú Zǐyuān: Honestly these two have always given me “there’s some sort of backstory there” energy, based on the interaction they have at the beginning of the massacre of Lotus Pier. I think something where they knew each other as children/teens/young adults would be super interesting - maybe the MeishanYu Clan used to have close ties with Wen Zhuliu’s original sect and they grew up in each other’s orbit, maybe they met during a disciple exchange at some point and bonded over a shared interest/other commonality, etc.

• Gongyi Xiao/Ming Fan: I just think Ming Fan & Gongyi Xiao be interesting together - possibly either in a GYX becomes a Qing JIng Peak disciple AU or an AU that takes place post-canon when they’re both adults (where GYX does not die).

• General Note:I have read all of the currently available chapters of the manhwa & I’m currently at like chapter 140 of the webnovel. I’m cool with references to either canon - though references to things that happen way later in the webnovel may fly over my head.
• I would honestly love anything centered around Cheong Myeong + having his original identity revealed to the other main characters, whether that be via specific-curse-induced shenanigans, accidental time travel, temporarily being cursed with mind reading, etc.
• I do think an AU where Baek Cheon, Yoon Jong, and/or Lee Songbaek accidentally time travel to Pre-War Mount Hua and meet original!Cheong Myeong would be super cool!

• Aresh Indolark/Kondou Seiichirou: I am, admittedly, very weak for the jealous lover and accidental marriage tropes. I love how weirdly oblivious Kondou is to Aresh’s very clear affections in the manga & I would honestly love to see a “cultural differences cause confusion when it comes to formal courting/marriage proposals” trope for them. I definitely think Aresh would be the type of person to trap Kondou in a marriage in general - but I also think he’d do it in an attempt to keep Kondou from trying to return to his own world. I mostly think their dynamic is interesting within canon/canon adjacent settings.

  • I love assertive!Shen Yu and how he eventually grows into standing up for himself by the end of the narrative, and I'd love to see more of that honestly.
  • I also think a fic set during the time they spent at the Chu family home, with Guard!JXX would be cool!
• Chu Ling/Shen Yu: I quite honestly will devour just about anything for this pairing. I do think a Canon Divergence AU where Chu Ling & Shen Yu actually got married and had a happy life together would be stunning!! I knew it wasn't going to happen in canon but I was rooting for them lmao
• Xiao Xiye/Shen Yu: Would honestly love something with them set during the time Shen Yu spends at the palace prior to JXX staging the coup and taking over. I always got the vibe that Xiao Xiye was weirdly obsessed with Shen Yu & I’d love to see that explored.
• Xiao Xiye/Jun XuanXiao/Shen Yu: Honestly just go wild with this one.

• Fingolfin/Maglor: (listen, I read shrill music by myreslight and it changed me) I just love the idea of these two trying to navigate their relationship in the new political landscape in the wake of Feanor's death and Maedhros' capture. Volatile, painful, codependent, and just so much fun to think about. I also think a modern AU where they keep their canon-dynamic (sort of) would be interesting for them as well. DubCon & Darkfic highly welcome for these two.
• Celegorm/Curufin/Finrod: I tend to prefer their dynamic during the time Curufin & Celegorm spent in Nargothrond, but I do also think a modern AU with them might be interesting?
